Matt came to Portsmouth Abbey School in 2014 to serve as director of development. He is a 1993 graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, a 1990 graduate of Princeton University, and a 1986 graduate of Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving, Texas. In 2001 Matt returned to his alma mater to serve as director of development and alumni relations at Cistercian Prep. Following that, he stepped into the same position at St. Mary's High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he most recently served as vice president for development. Matt is married to Paula Walter, Portsmouth Abbey's dean of residential life, and they live on campus in St. Mary's House with their two sons, John Patrick '18, and Matthew '20.

Patty joined Portsmouth Abbey School in 2014 in the Office of Development & Alumni Affairs. She assists with all areas of development, with a special focus on augmenting major gift solicitation, supervising the Director of Special Events, and overseeing development communications. Patty lives in Portsmouth with her husband, Larry, and their five children, two of whom are currently enrolled at the Abbey.

Andrew came to Portsmouth Abbey in 2013 after spending 26 years in the private sector, primarily working with early-stage financial services technology companies. Building and nurturing strategic relationships in an academic and religious setting is Andrew’s passion, and he travels far and wide on behalf of the Abbey to do so. Andrew is the product of a K-12 independent school education as are his two sons, Carter and Patrick, a proud member of the class of 2017. His wife, Sarah, who taught first grade at the Park School in Brookline, MA, is now the curator of education at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The Roses are thrilled to be living on Cory’s Lane.

Alex came to Portsmouth Abbey School in 2017 to serve as the Director of the Annual Fund. She oversees the Annual Fund program and works closely with parents, alumni, friends, and volunteers of the School. Prior to the Abbey, Alex spent three and a half years working at Brown University in Class Campaigns and the Sports Foundation. A native of Simsbury, CT, Alex currently resides in Swansea, MA with her husband Juho.

Nora joined Portsmouth Abbey School in 2015 in the Office of Development & Alumni Affairs. She coordinates annual fund volunteers for classes 20 to 45 years out to engage alumni to help support the fund as well as assists reunion committees with their upcoming reunions. Nora lives in Portsmouth with her husband, Michael, and their six children.

Justin came to Portsmouth Abbey School in 2017 to serve as the Assistant Director of the Annual Fund – Young Alumni. In his role, he stewards the relationship between the School and the annual fund volunteers, that are graduates of the last 20 years, to engage their fellow alumni to help support the School. Previously, Justin served as a Graduate Fellow within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. While at Merrimack, he managed the phonathon, led the Senior Class Gift Campaign, and supported all facets of the Merrimack Fund, with a special focus on young alumni.

Recently appointed as the Director of Parent Relations, Meghan serves the School in this position which is dedicated to our parents. Her primary goal is provide the Abbey parents a way to engage with and be connected to the Abbey community while offering them the resources to make their child’s Abbey experience the best and most worthwhile. Previously, Meghan served as Portsmouth Abbey School's Director of Admission for seven years and Associate Director for the preceding seven. She began her boarding school career serving as the Assistant Director of Admission and Director of Financial Aid at The Hill School in Pottstown, PA and prior to her secondary school admission work, Meghan spent eight years in college admission. In addition to her work with our parents, Meghan is an affiliate houseparent in St. Brigid’s House and is an advisor to VI Formers. Meghan and her husband live on campus and have three sons: Matthew ’14, Drew '17, and Luke '21!

Amanda came to Portsmouth Abbey School in 2017 to serve as the Assistant Director of Communications, where she helps execute and oversee digital and print initiatives for the School. A native New Yorker, she worked at Brown University and Manhattan College before coming to the Abbey. Previously, she worked for Pearson Education in the editorial department. Amanda lives in Tiverton with her husband Andrew.
