Portsmouth Abbey School is New England's co-educational Catholic Benedictine boarding and day school. Its mission is to help young men and women grow in knowledge and grace, fostering reverence for God and the human person, respect for learning and order, and responsibility for community life. Admission to the School is selective; it is fully enrolled with 360 boys and girls. The campus is situated on the shores of Narragansett Bay, only seven miles from Newport, RI. The School is overseen by a monastic community belonging to the English Benedictine Congregation and is governed by a Board of Regents.


The Director of Special Events coordinates and implements Portsmouth Abbey School’s special events plan. Duties include the management of annual and special events, including among others Reunion Weekend, Scholarship Golf Tournament, the Abbot’s Reception, Parents’ Auction, and Commencement. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the planning and execution of regional, national and international receptions and dinners, informational meetings, fund-raising, cultivation and stewardship events.
