Portsmouth Abbey School is New England's co-educational Catholic Benedictine boarding and day school. Its mission is to help young men and women grow in knowledge and grace, fostering reverence for God and the human person, respect for learning and order, and responsibility for community life. Admission to the School is selective; it is fully enrolled with 360 boys and girls. The campus is situated on the shores of Narragansett Bay, only seven miles from Newport, RI. The School is overseen by a monastic community belonging to the English Benedictine Congregation and is governed by a Board of Regents.

Mathematics Teacher

A full time teacher in mathematics; responsibilities will include, at a minimum, all levels of secondary mathematics through Precalculus. (Department offerings also include AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science, and a rotating series of post-BC Calculus courses including Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Real Analysis.) A strong undergraduate mathematics background is required.

Faculty appointments include two seasons of coaching athletics and responsibility in a dormitory as a houseparent. Each faculty member serves as an advisor for 5-7 students. Faculty members are expected to participate in all aspects of the school.
